A childhood immersed in books could lead nowhere else but a career working with words, whether in my academic and commercial roles or my freelance business The Writing Desk.
I have more than 8 years of experience as a writer in consultancy, and over 10 years in academic writing, research and teaching, with a PhD in literature and postdoctoral fellowship in medical humanities.
Outside my usual employment, you’ll find me enjoying other creative pursuits, from music and ballet to photography (all images on this site are mine), or exploring the outdoors, from cycling, historic properties and gardens to birding, hiking and countryside walks. I’m curious minded and love learning new things, and I’ve travelled extensively around the world and lived in four countries.
